What’s the Deal with BMW Star Marked Tires?

I just got star marked tires for my BMW, and I want to know how to maintain them properly. What should I be looking out for?

Make sure to check your tire pressure regularly! BMW recommends doing it at least once a month, especially before long trips.

Also, checking tread depth is crucial. You can use the penny test—insert a penny into the tread. If you can see Lincoln’s whole head, it’s time to replace your tires.

This is great advice! I just got a pressure gauge because I realized I wasn’t checking mine enough.

Don’t forget to look for signs of wear! Uneven wear on the tires can indicate alignment issues. It’s always good to have an alignment check.

I love the penny test! It’s such a simple way to gauge tread depth without fancy tools.

My BMW manual mentions specific pressures for star marked tires too—make sure you’re using the correct PSI listed there!

Thanks for this! I sometimes forget to check the manual, and those details matter a lot.

If you’re seeing any cracks or bulges on the sidewalls, that’s a sign to swap them out immediately. Safety first!

I had a friend who ignored this and ended up with a blowout while driving! Always good to double-check.
