Thoughts on BMW San Marino Blue? Pros and Cons?

I’ve been seeing a lot of BMWs in the San Marino Blue color lately, and I can’t help but be intrigued. For those who have this color or have seen it in person, what are your thoughts?

Here are some things I’m curious about:

  • Appearance in Different Lighting: Does the color look different depending on the sunlight or shadows? How does it compare to other BMW colors?
  • Specific Models: Which BMW models do you think pull off San Marino Blue the best? Any favorites?
  • Maintenance: Is it harder to keep clean than other shades? Does it show dirt or scratches easily?
  • Resale Value & Appeal: Is San Marino Blue a popular choice that holds value over time, or do buyers prefer more standard colors?

I’m considering getting a BMW in this color, so any insights would be really appreciated! Pictures would be a bonus too. Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

San Marino Blue has really taken off among BMW enthusiasts! It’s that perfect blend of sporty and classy. Definitely one of the standout colors in the lineup.

In my opinion, San Marino Blue stands out on the road. It seems to capture that sporty essence that many of us love about BMWs. Plus, it’s a hit at any car meet!

So true! Remember when everyone thought white and silver were the ultimate ‘cool’ colors? San Marino Blue breaks that mold beautifully!

I love how the San Marino Blue seems to shine differently in the sunlight. It adds a certain flair that you just don’t get with other colors. It’s like a mood ring for cars!

While San Marino Blue is stunning, I wonder if it might date a car more quickly than neutral shades? What do you think?

That’s a valid concern. But I think bold colors like this could become classics in their own right.

As a long-time fan of BMW, I feel like San Marino Blue appeals to the younger crowd. It’s vibrant and makes a statement, while traditional colors might not grab as much attention anymore.

Definitely! And who wouldn’t want to be noticed driving a San Marino Blue BMW? It’s way more exciting than the standard black or white options!

Right? Plus, I’d argue it has a timeless quality. Just think of how good it looks next to a sunset!

I just can’t get enough of that deep blue! Makes me think of the ocean – would even make a great nickname like ‘The Ocean Rover!’

That’s awesome! How much did the wrap cost you? I’m considering it for my own car.

I resprayed my car in San Marino Blue last year. The total cost was around $3,500. The finish is glossy and has held up well to weather, but keep an eye on maintenance. Worth every penny!

That sounds reasonable! Did you have to do any prep work before the respray? I’m curious about the process.

Yes, plenty of prep is needed for a smooth finish! Sanding and priming are crucial. San Marino Blue is vibrant, but imperfections show up easily, so prep is key.

How long did the entire process take? Was it done in one day or did you need multiple visits?

It took about a week for the respray, but they did it all at once. Just needed to let the paint cure. I was delighted with the result; it looks like a brand new car!

That’s impressive! I’ve heard mixed things about durability—how does it hold up against fading?

So far, no fading! I park in the garage when I can, which helps. The color truly pops under different lighting conditions, too. Have a cover for long outdoor periods, if possible.

Great tips! I’m also considering the future resale value. Does anyone think the unique color affects that?
