Introduction
I’ve been considering swapping out my brake pads and the TRW Ultra Brake Pads keep coming up in discussions. They’re supposed to offer great performance and durability, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually used them.
Why TRW Ultra Pads?
I’ve done some research, and it seems like the TRW Ultra pads are designed for both daily driving and spirited rides. I’m particularly interested in:
- Performance: How do they perform in various conditions—wet, dry, high-speed stops?
- Durability: Do they wear out quickly, or can I expect them to last a decent amount of time?
- Noise Levels: I’ve heard mixed reviews on whether they’re quiet or squeaky.
- Compatibility: Will they fit my vehicle model without any issues?
What Are Your Experiences?
If anyone here has installed these pads, can you share your experiences? How do they compare to other brands, like the EBC or Brembo pads? I’d appreciate both pros and cons.
Closing Thoughts
Thanks for taking the time to read this! I’m looking forward to hearing what you all think of the TRW Ultra Brake Pads. Any feedback can help me make a more informed decision!
Feel free to drop any links to reviews or personal experiences you think might help!
I’ve been using TRW Ultra Brake Pads for about six months now, and the stopping distance is impressively short. They respond quickly, even in wet conditions. Definitely worth considering!
That’s great to hear! How do they compare to other brands you’ve used?
I’ve used several brands, but TRW has given me smoother braking and less noise. The temperature control is excellent too. Very consistent performance overall!
That’s something I’ve noticed with my current pads as well. It’s good to know TRW maintains that. Any issues with wear over time?
My experience with wear has been positive. They’ve held up quite well compared to a few other brands I’ve tried, like Bendix and Bosch. Still going strong after thousands of miles.
Absolutely! The installation guide was straightforward, and I did it with basic tools in my garage. Saved me a bunch on labor costs.
That’s reassuring! I’ve heard that some pads are tricky to install.
Good to know! Are they easy to install yourself?
For sure! I remember struggling with another brand once. TRW was a breeze in comparison. Anyone tried them in extreme conditions, like off-roading?

LOL, my off-roading days are behind me! But I’ve taken my car through some rough weather, and these pads handled it well. Maybe not as extreme, though! How about handling?

So they don’t feel mushy at all? That’s a red flag for me with brake pads.
The handling feels firm and responsive. I have confidence during sharp turns. I think TRWs are a solid choice!
Not mushy at all! They offer a direct feel, which is essential for safety. I think you’d be pleased with their performance.

That’s a relief! I might be sold on these. Are there any negatives to be aware of?

One downside I noticed is that they can dust a bit more than other brands, but honestly, it’s a small price to pay for performance.
Good point! I guess that’s something to consider. But it seems like the performance outweighs that issue.
Exactly! As long as you’re aware, it shouldn’t be a deal-breaker if performance is your main concern. Overall, I’d recommend trying them out!
I’ve been using TRW Ultra Brake Pads for about 6 months now, and they still feel great! Around 12,000 miles, and they haven’t worn down much at all. They really do meet my expectations for longevity.
That sounds promising! I drive mainly in the city, so I’m worried about quicker wear. Any thoughts?
