Looking for the Best Aftermarket Remote Start Options

I’m on the hunt for the best aftermarket remote start systems out there. I’ve been doing some research, but there are so many options available that it’s overwhelming. Can anyone share their experiences or recommend a few systems that you’ve installed or used?

What to Look For

I’m particularly interested in:

  • Reliability: I want something that starts my car without fail.
  • Range: How far can this remote start system operate?
  • Ease of Installation: Is it something I can do myself or should I go to a professional?
  • Price Point: What’s a reasonable budget for a good system?

Other Considerations

Also, I’d love to hear about any brands that have stood out to you, and if there are specific features that make a difference. I’m curious about both the key fob systems as well as the smartphone app functionalities.

Thanks in advance for your help! Looking forward to your recommendations and insights!

I’ve been using the Viper 5706V for a year now. It’s been reliable and has great range! Definitely a top contender.

How does the installation work for the Viper? I’m a bit hesitant about doing it myself.

I have the Compustar CS7900-AS, and it’s fantastic! Love the two-way communication feature. Highly recommend it!

What kind of distance does that model cover? Is it as good as the Viper?

The Compustar has a distance of up to 3,000 feet, so it competes well with Viper. Both are excellent choices!

I’ve heard mixed reviews about remote starters affecting warranties. Should I be concerned about that?

Yes, some manufacturers may void a warranty if the installation isn’t done correctly. Always good to check before installing.

What’s the best way to verify this? Contact the dealer?

Yes, contacting the dealer directly is usually the best way to get accurate information about warranties.

I always joke that my car has a better remote than my home! Anyone tried the Avital 5303L? Is it any good?

Haha, that’s a good one! The Avital 5303L is quite popular. It’s budget-friendly and has decent features for the price.

I’ve had my Avital for a while now, and it works well. It may not have all the fancy features but gets the job done reliably.

That’s good to hear! How’s the range on that model?

The Avital has a range of about 1,500 feet, which is decent but less than some of the high-end models like Viper.

All these options are great, but has anyone experienced reliability issues with any of these brands? I’m trying to make an informed choice.

I’m also looking for a good aftermarket remote start. I want something with plenty of range. Any recommendations?

You might want to check out the Viper 5706V. It’s solid and has a great range. Plus, it’s pretty easy to install yourself if you’re handy!

I’ve installed a few remote starts. Make sure you have a multimeter and the right wiring harness for your vehicle. It can save a lot of headaches!

True! Also, look out for any anti-theft systems in your car; they can complicate the installation.
