I’m considering upgrading the look of my G20 LCI 3-Series with a front lip spoiler, but I’m unsure which options are the best. I’ve seen various styles and brands out there but would love to hear from others who’ve already made the leap.
What I’m Looking For:
Recommendations on popular brands: Are there any specific brands that stand out for quality and fitment?
Installation tips: Any advice on whether I should DIY the installation or take it to a professional?
Compatibility: Are there fronts lips that fit all models of the G20 LCI, or do I need to be wary of specific trims?
Aesthetic and performance trade-offs: Are there noticeable differences in appearance or aerodynamics that I should keep in mind?
If you have any experience with aftermarket front lips for the G20 LCI, please share your thoughts and insights. Thanks for your help!
I’m looking for a G20 LCI front lip spoiler too! I’ve heard that ABS plastic is popular, but how does it hold up against scratches? Any insights on that would be great!
ABS is indeed durable, but I’ve seen some users mention it can wear down over time, especially in harsh weather. I’ve had mine for over a year, and while it has minor scratches, it still looks good overall!
Carbon fiber is great, but I feel like it’s not worth the price unless you’re really into the aesthetics. How’s the durability? Does anyone have experience after two years?
I installed a carbon fiber lip, and I love how it looks! Just be aware, it can be more prone to chips than other materials. It performs well but requires vigilance.
Thanks for sharing your experiences! It sounds like polyurethane might be the way to go for longer longevity. How do you guys feel about cleaning and maintenance?
Cleaning is easy! Just avoid harsh chemicals. I usually just use car soap and a microfiber cloth. Though, it is a bit funny trying to scrub down a spoiler that’s so close to the ground!
I recently installed the G20 LCI front lip and found it quite straightforward! Tools required were minimal, and it took me about two hours. Make sure to align it properly for the best look.
A friend of mine installed it solo, so I think it’s totally doable. Just take your time and maybe watch a few YouTube videos first for tips. Experience definitely helps!
I hired a pro because I wanted to make sure it fit perfectly without risking damage. But now hearing about how easy it is, I might just try it myself next time!
