Looking for Insights on the 2016 Benz CLS 400!

Exploring the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLS 400

Hey everyone! I’m currently in the market for a used luxury sedan and the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLS 400 has caught my eye. I’ve done a bit of research, but I’d love to gather more insights from anyone who has experience with this model.

Here’s what I’m particularly interested in:

  • Performance: How does it handle on the road? Is the acceleration as smooth as advertised?
  • Comfort: What’s the interior like? How’s the seating comfort, especially for long drives?
  • Features: Are the tech features user-friendly? How’s the infotainment system?
  • Reliability: Any known issues or common repairs to be aware of?
  • Pricing: What’s a fair price for a well-maintained model?

I’ve seen some listings online but I want to make sure I’m making a good decision. If you’ve owned a CLS 400 from 2016 or have any thoughts on it, please share your experiences! Any reviews, tips, or warnings would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Looking forward to your responses!

I recently drove a 2016 Benz CLS 400, and I was blown away by the V6 engine! It produces 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, which translates to an amazing acceleration experience. You can feel it really take off when you press the pedal.

That sounds impressive! How did it handle on winding roads? I’m curious if the steering felt responsive.

The steering was indeed very responsive! The car feels great on curvy roads and maintains its composure. I also appreciated the four-wheel independent suspension that helps smooth out bumpy surfaces.

I can imagine that adds to the luxury feel. How does it perform in adverse weather conditions like rain or snow?

I totally agree with you, @edward12! But I did love how the acceleration felt in dry conditions—it’s almost like the car is eager to race ahead.

Being a fan of good driving experiences, I’d say the CLS 400 balances power and comfort exceptionally well. It feels luxurious but sporty at the same time!

Sounds perfect! How did you find the interior? Is the technology user-friendly?

The interior is gorgeous! The infotainment system took some getting used to, but overall, it’s quite intuitive—especially with the voice command features.

It’s definitely a tech-forward car, but I wouldn’t say it’s without quirks. Sometimes the touchpad can be a bit finicky.

Yeah, I think that’s Mercedes’ design trend lately. But I imagine it’s manageable for a great drive.

Overall, the driving experience is top-notch! It’s definitely a car that makes you reflect on what luxury should feel like—smooth, powerful, and engaging.

Absolutely! It’s a car that makes you feel proud to drive. Anyone else feel like showing off when they get behind the wheel?

I’ve owned a 2016 CLS 400 for about two years now. Maintenance costs can be a bit high, especially if you go to the dealership for service. Expect around $1,000 annually if you’re diligent with maintenance.

That’s a fair point! I had a friend with a CLS who mentioned that the services add up. What have you found to be the most expensive part to replace?

Common issues I’ve seen in forums include electrical problems and suspension issues. Make sure to check the warranty if you’re purchasing used!

Definitely! The air suspension can be pricey if it goes bad. I’ve also heard that tire wear can be an issue due to the weight of the car.

As a current owner, I’d say reliability has been solid for me. Just stick to regular service appointments and keep an eye on the fluids!

Good to hear! Have you had any major repairs? I’m curious since reliability can vary so much by owner experience.

I’ve had a few minor repairs—nothing over $500. The most expensive thing was an issue with the navigation system. Overall, I feel it’s a good balance of luxury and performance.
