I’m looking into fog light upgrades for my E46 M3 too! I’ve heard good things about LED options. They’re supposed to be brighter and last longer. Has anyone tried them?

LEDs are great, but don’t forget about HID options! They can be even brighter than LEDs. I used them on my previous car but I’ve heard they might require extra wiring.

I installed LED fog lights last year and absolutely love them! The visibility at night is amazing compared to stock. Definitely a worthy upgrade!

True! But what about the heat output? I’ve read that HIDs run hotter than LEDs. Is that a concern?

That’s a good point. Halogens are reliable, but if you want something modern, LEDs are really worth the investment for the E46 M3.

I’m leaning towards LEDs myself. They save power and offer a clean white light. Just need to decide between plug-and-play kits or the more complex ones.

Hella is a great brand! I’ve had good luck with them on my other cars. Just be cautious of the fitment; E46 can be particular.

What types of bulbs are you all using with your fog lights? I heard some people have had issues with overheating.

I use a 55W HID bulb setup. Never had overheating problems, but make sure the housing is well-ventilated.
