Resetting the iDrive is like a soft reboot. Simply hold down the volume knob for about 20 seconds until it restarts. Just be aware that it might reset some of your saved preferences.
Do you know how to check which version I have? I can’t seem to find that option in my system.
Navigate to ‘Settings’ then ‘About’. It should display your current iDrive version. If you need an update, your BMW dealer can help.
I lost my service history entirely after a software glitch. Now, I’m worried about warranty claims. Does this happen often?

Maybe it’s a part of its charm! Just like my old computer—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t! But seriously, I hope they improve future updates.

To check your BMW iDrive service history, go to the main menu, select ‘My Vehicle’, and then ‘Vehicle Status’. You should see the service history listed there.
Yes, the BMW Connected app allows you to view service history and even schedule maintenance. Just sync it with your vehicle.
