Do Tinted Windows Really Keep Your Car Cooler?

But can you really put a price on comfort? Balancing legality and comfort is the tricky part, though.

Haha, that’s a funny image! But on a reflective note, we should really consider how our choices affect safety as well.

I’ve had tinted windows for a couple of years now, and I can definitely say they help keep my car cooler, especially during hot summer days. I hardly use my AC as much!

That’s great to hear! How much do you think it reduces your need for AC? I’m considering tinting and wondering about the impact.

I think tinted windows are great, but I still use sunshades on really hot days. They add another layer of protection against heat. I haven’t compared the two directly though.

I’ve done the same! The reflective sunshades work wonders. What tint percentage did you get?

Great question! I have 35% tints, which is perfect for me. The sunshades also help, but sometimes they’re just a hassle to install.

That’s interesting! I think it really depends on personal preference and climate. Have you tried reflective films instead?

I’ve tried all methods! Tinted windows are handy, but I still swear by my solar reflective window films. They really lower the car’s heat more than I expected.

That sounds promising! I’ve never tried those. Do they leave a weird glare at night?

Not at all! They work like a charm both day and night. I’ve been really happy with them, and they don’t affect visibility. Just make sure to get a good quality film!

Sometimes I just roll my windows down after parking – nothing feels as refreshing as that! But I get why people like tints – they do prevent the car from turning into an oven.

Haha, true! It definitely works, but can be a sweaty experience! What’s your go-to method for long drives?
