Do I Really Need a Front License Plate in Massachusetts?

Haha, thankfully not that long! It took about 4-6 weeks for mine to arrive. But seeing it on the car was worth the wait! Just make sure to follow the RMV’s design rules.

I recently moved to Massachusetts and was puzzled about the front license plate requirement. From what I understand, yes, you do need it. I found some great mounting kits online that include a bracket and adhesive pads. Super easy to install!

I had the same confusion when I first got here! I ended up using zip ties to secure mine temporarily while I looked for a more permanent solution.

Using zip ties is a clever idea! Just make sure it’s visible. If you want something more reliable, I recommend checking out some of the universal plate mounting solutions available at auto parts stores. They work well.

I did that! I bought a product that easily connects to my grill. It’s sturdy and meets the visibility requirements. No complaints yet!

Great tips! I actually used an adhesive mount for my Tesla. It looks cleaner without screws showing. Just be sure to check periodically to make sure it’s not loosening, especially in warmer months.

That sounds really sleek! How is it holding up in winter conditions? I worry about the cold affecting the adhesive.

Honestly, it’s been solid! I even subjected it to a car wash, and it stayed on. Yet, I’d definitely recommend checking it after extreme weather, just to be safe.

Has anyone faced issues with police over not having a front plate? I heard mixed experiences; some say it’s not enforced strictly, while others got pulled over. I’m curious about the real risk!

I’m pretty sure they only enforce it if they see you, but it’s good to have the plate just in case. What’s the deal with people saying it looks ugly? I think it can look fine with a good mounting solution!

Exactly! I even have mine framed and it looks stylish, haha! It can blend well if mounted correctly.

I’ve seen varying enforcement too. I know someone who got quite a hefty ticket, so I wouldn’t risk it. Better safe than sorry!

Just a thought: if you’re still on the fence, consider it a small price for peace of mind. Reflecting on those who’ve faced fines, it seems worth it to avoid that hassle!
