It’s best to bring them clean and free of brake dust. If you can, tape off any areas where you don’t want the coating, like the valve stem holes.

I haven’t noticed much fading with mine, but the key is to make sure the surface is prepped well. Also, I recommend using a UV protective clear coat on top for added longevity!

My experience is that media blasting really prepares the wheels well. Just make sure all old coatings are stripped, otherwise, you’ll run into adhesion issues later on.
