Anyone know the mid muffler delete cost?

I’m considering a mid muffler delete on my car and I’m trying to get a handle on what the costs are going to look like. I’ve heard varying prices depending on whether you go the DIY route or have a shop do it for you.

DIY Costs

  • Materials: If I try this at home, what materials do I need? I’ve spotted some aftermarket pipes that seem pretty affordable online, but I’m not sure if I need any additional clamps or seals.
  • Tools: I’m relatively handy, but do I need any specialized tools to get the job done? I’m thinking about things like a pipe cutter or a welder.
  • Time: How long does a good DIY job take? I want to make sure I set aside enough time.

Professional Service Costs

  • Labor: What’s a typical cost range if I decide to take my car to a shop? I guess that might vary based on location and the type of shop?
  • Make and Model: Does the make and model of the car affect the price? I’ve got a [Your Car Make and Model]; does anyone have experience with that?

Additional Considerations

  • Resonators and Other Mods: If I do a mid muffler delete, are there other parts I should consider upgrading at the same time, and how do those costs factor in?
  • Sound and Performance: I’ve heard that removing the muffler can change the sound significantly. Is it worth it for sound alone, or do you really notice a performance boost?

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through this process. Any advice or details about costs you’ve encountered would be super helpful!

In Texas, I’ve seen prices as low as $100. Labor costs seem way cheaper here compared to other states.

I had mine done for about $250. The sound improvement was worth it! Just make sure to ask about warranty for the parts.

Absolutely! After my mid muffler delete, my car roars! It’s quite addictive.

I’ve been quoted $200 at a few places here in Florida. It seems like a solid price considering they handle everything.

That sounds reasonable! Has anyone had a bad experience with a budget-friendly shop?

I had a bad experience with a cheap shop; they rushed the job, and I had to go back. Sometimes paying a little more is worth it.

Yes, quality matters! Asking for reviews before going in can save lots of headaches later. $200 to $300 seems to be the sweet spot.

Great point! Plus, make sure to ask about the materials they’ll use for the delete.

Exactly! I had to spend an extra $50 for a nice tip after mine.

It’s funny how something like an exhaust tip can make or break the final look. Just be prepared for some extra costs.

Right? And don’t forget about potential emissions issues too, depending on where you live.

I had no idea emissions would be a concern. This could lead to fines. Is it really that serious?

In some states, yes, it can be a big deal! Double-check local regulations before going through with the delete.

I’m considering a mid muffler delete too! I’ve heard it can improve throttle response and give a more aggressive sound. Anyone have specific costs in mind?

From my experience, a mid muffler delete typically costs between $100 to $300, depending on the shop and your vehicle. The sound is definitely deeper and more satisfying!

That sounds great, but are there any downsides? I’ve heard mixed things about drone on the highway.

I did notice some drone around 2500 RPM, but I honestly don’t mind it! It just feels sportier.

Drone can be annoying! But if the performance is better, I might consider it. Anyone notice a difference in power?
